HAMLET – The ladies of Spring Hill Wesleyan Church in Hamlet will hold their annual craft fair and bake sale on Saturday, November 11 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The church was founded in 1879 and is located at 289 Spring Hill Church Road in Hamlet (off of Highway 38).
Each year the ladies of the church begin making crafts months ahead for the sale and all sorts of goodies are baked the week of the sale.
Judy Ayer, who is a member of the church makes and donates crafts for the event each year. Ayer also volunteers on the day of the event.
“I’ve enjoyed making crafts for the bazaar for many years,” Ayers said. “The money goes towards many good causes.”
The annual fundraiser has been held for over 50 years and all the money raised goes to several different ministries. One of the benefitted ministries is the Hephzibah Ministries which serves the needs of children and families who are homeless, the orphaned, the abused, and the neglected.
The money also helps Richmond County’s local food bank as well as local needy families at Christmas, disaster relief, and much more.
On the day of the event there will be homemade chicken and dumpling plate sales for $7, and chicken and dumpling bowl sales for $4. They will also offer collard sandwiches for $5 each. Eat-in or take out will be offered. An indoor yard sale with numerous items will be held inside the fellowship hall.
