ROCKINGHAM — C.F. Smith Property Group on Thursday finally announced the third tenant coming to its latest Richmond County retail development.

Cellphone company T-Mobile will be coming to Broad Station Commons, a three-business shopping center on East Broad Avenue.

The brief announcement was made in a Facebook post.

T-Mobile was recently ranked as the best overall provider by AndroidCentral.com and best provider for video by toptenreviews.com.

The cellphone store will be joining coffee giant Starbucks and sandwich chain Jersey Mike’s Subs at Broad Station Commons.

The development and first two outlets were revealed in January.

Broad Station Commons will be at the site of the former Mi Casita’s Mexican restaurant, between the Chiba Japanese drive-thru, and Dieffenbach G.M. Superstore.

Construction is expected to start soon.

C.F. Smith also announced that Tropical Smoothie Cafe would be opening soon in the space formerly occupied by GNC in Richmond Plaza.

In addition to smoothies, the Atlanta-based chain also serves salads, sandwiches and wraps.

According to the corporate website, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has locations in 45 states, including nearly 60 in North Carolina.

Since early 2020, C.F. Smith has opened several new businesses in Richmond Plaza, including Firehouse Subs, Planet Fitness, Aspen Dental and Burke’s Outlet, the latter of which now occupies part of the retail space left by the corporate closing of J.C. Penney.

Headlines hair salon recently moved from its downtown location to the shopping center.

The company also recently had a Tesla charging station installed in the parking lot of the plaza.
