ROCKINGHAM — State and local investigators are looking into a Friday night incident that resulted in a teen’s death.
According to the Rockingham Police Department, officers responded to 617 E. Broad Ave. in response to a male juvenile who had sustained a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived, they “took over life saving efforts until EMS could respond,” according to a press release.

The victim, whose name was not released or confirmed because of his age, was taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond where police say he succumbed to his injuries.
The Rockingham Police Department is working with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation on the case.
