Teen injured in Hamlet shooting

HAMLET — A teenager was sent to the hospital late last week after being shot.

Investigators with the Hamlet Police Department say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning on Spring Street.

The shots were reportedly fired from the back parking lot of La Cabana, according to the HPD.

The teen was shot twice and was still in the hospital on Monday, police said.

A nearby vehicle was also struck.

Investigators would not reveal how many shots were fired.

The case is still under investigation.
