Troopers: No injuries in logging truck wreck

HAMLET — No injuries were reported in a wreck involving a logging truck that closed a highway down for several hours Wednesday.

According to the N.C. State Highway Patrol, the driver of a car was stopped at the end of County Home Road when he pulled out onto N.C. 177, not seeing a logging truck coming down the highway.

Troopers say the car and truck collided and the rig ran off the road to the left, overturned and spilled its load onto the highway — which remained closed for about five hours. Neither driver was injured.

Names of the individuals involved were not available as the report had already been sent to a supervisor and it had not been listed on the Highway Patrol’s website at the time of this writing.
