United Way of Richmond County is gearing up for its 15th annual “Days of Caring” event, set to take place on Thursday, Sept. 12th, Friday, Sept. 13th, and Saturday, Sept. 14. Nearly 270 volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves to support local nonprofit organizations, making a tangible impact on the community.

This hands-on event is an opportunity for volunteers and businesses to connect with local nonprofits and contribute to service projects that meet the needs of Richmond County. Eight of the 13 United Way partner agencies will host volunteers at various times between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Over three days, employee teams and individual volunteers will engage in eleven projects, bringing them closer to the challenges faced by their neighbors in our community.

Michelle Parrish, executive director of United Way of Richmond County, emphasized the significance of the event.

“It takes all kinds of help to make a community stronger and to assist people in need. Real change is possible when people from all walks of life roll up their sleeves and work together,” she said. Parrish expressed her gratitude to the local companies that engage their employees in volunteer work. “Volunteers make a difference in people’s lives every day. local volunteer projects on Days of Caring and throughout the year.”

  • Baby Shower: Host a baby shower at your workplace to provide items for single parents and families in need.
  • Rake A Difference: In honor of the upcoming Veteran’s Day, gather your workplace team to rake the yards of community members who have physical and/or financial limitations.
