ROCKINGHAM – This Saturday, October 7,, will be an important day in Richmond County as Rockingham’s VFW Post 4203 will be hosting its annual charity yard sale.

The yard sale will be held on the VFW’s site at 106 Old River Road in Rockingham from 7 a.m. till 12 p.m.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars has partnered with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity to raise funds for the home-building charitable organization.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to help Habitat for Humanity continue to provide local housing assistance for those in need.

VFW Auxiliary President Robin Roberts notes that a similar event raised over $900 last year, so she is hoping to top $1,000 on Saturday.

“We have two storage units full of everything you can imagine, but if anyone wants to donate before Saturday, we will gladly take what they have,” Roberts said.

Items may be delivered directly to the VFW site between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. any day this week.  Someone will be available to assist with the unloading.
