HAMLET — One driver was sent to the hospital in a near-head-on collision Wednesday morning.

The wreck happened around 7:30 a.m. just south of Battley Dairy Road on N.C. 177, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol.

Troopers say one vehicle was driving north and the other was driving south when one side-swiped the other in what was almost a head-on wreck.
