Competing in their second meet of the season on Saturday, the Lady Raiders recorded a season-high 131.5 points and second place at Union Pines High School.

Harrison, who competes in several sprinting events and the long jump, collected two of Richmnd’s four first-place finishes. She added a second-place mark in the long jump and combined to lead the Lady Raiders with 28 points.

Running in the 55-meter dash, Harrison clocked her first victory with a time of 7.64 seconds. She was just ahead of senior teammate Isis Covington (7.74 seconds).

Harrison’s other win came in the 300-meter dash, seeing her cross the finish line in 45.55 seconds. Again, she won the race ahead of Covington, who finished in 45.67 seconds.

Also placing in the long jump, Harrison earned second behind Scotland High School’s Shidaya Billings. Securing eight more points for Richmond, Harrison launched herself to a final distance of 14 feet, 10.25 inches.

One of four members of the 4×200-meter relay team, Harrison and the Lady Raiders suffered an uncharacteristic disqualification on Saturday. A week early, the relay team took first place by nearly five seconds.

The next meet for the Lady Raiders will be on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem. Richmond will compete in the N.C. Runners Holiday Invitational.
