ROCKINGHAM — Announced Monday morning by athletic director Rob Ransom, pre-sale football tickets for Richmond Senior High School’s regular-season finale are now available.
The undefeated Raiders (10-0, 6-0 Sandhills Athletic Conference) will make the short trip to rival Scotland High School (9-1, 5-1 SAC) and try to win at Pate Stadium for the first time since 2009.
The annual meeting sees the Raiders ranked as the No. 1 team in the state, according to the NCHSAA adjusted maxpreps rankings as of Oct. 28th, while the Fighting Scots are ranked No. 3. In last season’s contest, Richmond snapped an eight-year drought and defeated Scotland 23-8 at home.
Pre-sale tickets can be bought for $7 apiece at Richmond’s front office. Other places around Richmond County that have them are Family Pharmacy and Medical Center Pharmacy in Rockingham, Ellerbe Pharmacy and Mabry’s Drug and Home Care in Hamlet.
The game has playoff seeding implications on the line, with the Raiders trying to win the SAC outright for the second straight season. A Scotland win, coupled with a Pinecrest High School win this week, would create a three-way tie for first.
ROSports will publish a complete game preview between the Raiders and Fighting Scots. Kickoff is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m.
