CHARLOTTE — Wyndham Clark maintains a one-stroke lead after nine holes in the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club.

Clark struggled right from the get go, bogeying the par 4 first hole missing the fairway and then green left.

Xander Schauffele wasted no time catching Clark for the lead, overtaking and briefly grabbing a solo lead on the fifth hole after birdies on hole 3 and 5.

Clark would go on to right the ship, rattling off a string of pars before finishing the front-9 with back-to-back birdies to retake the solo lead heading into the back-9.

While Clark was finishing birdie-par, Schauffele finished his front nine with a surprise three-putt to give Clark the leading heading into the back final 9.

While it appears to be a two man race at the midpoint of the round Adam Scott and Sungjae Im are lurking four shots back and are both 3-under for their rounds going into their back nines.

Adam Scott hits bunker shot out of the greenside bunker on the first hole Sunday.
Xander Schauffele hits drive on the second hole Sunday.
