HAMLET — Hosting West Hoke Middle School Monday, the Hamlet Middle School baseball and softball teams remained undefeated on the season.

Way’s homer, 4 RBIs key for Lady Red Rams

On the softball field, head coach Mike Way’s Lady Red Rams rolled to a 15-0 win over the Lady Tigers in four innings.

In the circle for Hamlet was Quston Leviner, who pitched a complete game shutout, and held West Hoke hitless in the mercy-rule game. She added 11 strikeouts to help her to her fourth win of the spring.

Seventh grader Katie Way had a big day at the plate, going 1-for-2 with four RBIs. In the bottom of the first inning, she slapped a three-run blast, before tacking on her final RBI on a sacrifice fly.

Adding onto the scoring barrage was Leviner, who went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Addy Hollingsworth had a 2-RBI hit in her three at-bats, while Ryelan Lyerly collected a hit and scored a team-high four runs.

The Lady Red Rams (4-0) will look to stay perfect on the season when they host East Hoke Middle School on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Graham’s hot bat helps Rams past Tigers

The Hamlet baseball team also run-ruled the Tigers, racking up double-digit runs en route to a 17-5 win in four innings.

Jason Walker picked up for the win the Red Rams, tossing a complete game in four innings. He also struck out six West Hoke batters.

Like their fellow softball players, the Red Rams (4-0) will be back in action on Wednesday at home against the East Hoke Eagles. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
