GREENSBORO — After the morning wave of this year’s Wyndham Championship on Thursday, rain descended upon Sedgefield Country Club.

As the heavy rains started, Adam Scott’s -5 morning round looked to be a solid score to possibly grab an overnight lead after round one.

Russell Henley had different plans.

Henley, who teed off at 1 p.m., began his round in the worst of the weather conditions carding four pars.

As the rain began to lighten up, Henley would start to heat up, rounding out his front nine play birdying three out of the five remaining holes.

Henly would follow up his front nine with a hot streak on the back nine, adding three more birdies and an eagle on the 15th hole.

Heavy rains were projected for Friday’s round and the entire field will most likely have to wrestle against not just the course but the conditions as well.
