CAMERON — The Richmond Renegade junior varsity baseball team couldn’t complete the two-game sweep against Union Pines on Tuesday.

Unlike last Thursday’s six-run win, the JV Renegades suffered an 11-3 loss on the road.

The JV Vikings jumped out to a 5-0 lead through the first three innings off starting pitcher Michael Osentowski (3.0 IP, eight runs, four hits, three strikeouts).

Richmond cut into the deficit with its first run in the top of the fourth inning, the first of three straight frames plating a run.

Hayden Wheeler connected on an RBI single, one of six hits for Richmond, to score Braden Baucom (error).

Union Pines answered with four more runs in the home half to open its lead to 9-1 after four complete innings.

The JV Renegades loaded the bases with two outs in the fifth, and Drew Gause recorded an RBI on a free pass. A strikeout ended the inning without any more runs.
