Lady Raiders suffer 3-set loss to Union Pines

CAMERON — The Richmond Senior High School volleyball team wasn’t able to get the job done on the road Tuesday.

Playing at Sandhills Athletic Conference foe Union Pines High School, the Lady Raiders suffered a 3-0 loss. The defeat extended the team’s current skid to three matches.

Set scores were 23-25, 19-25 and 16-25, in what was the second three-set loss to the Lady Vikings this season.

Head coach Ashleigh Larsen noted the same mistakes and inability to get in a rhythm early in the match were what kept the Lady Raiders from earning the victory.

Richmond (8-11, 4-6 SAC) will look to end its slide with a home match against Lee County High School (7-8, 4-5 SAC) on Thursday.

Also falling in straight sets was the Richmond junior varsity volleyball team, losing 2-0 to Union Pines. Set scores were 24-26 and 21-15.
