ROCKINGHAM — Spectators can get a reduced admission price for bringing a toy at MB Drift’s season-ender this weekend at Rockingham Speedway and Entertainment Complex.

MB Drift will be collecting for the MarineToys for Tots program during its final event of 2021 — “Gobble Gobble Hit That Throttle” — offering $5 admission to adults who bring a toy after 2:30 p.m..

MB Drift co-founder Marshall Eggerling said the drivers are also being encouraged to bring a donation.

Rockingham Speedway is an official Toys for Tots drop-off location with several boxes around the property.

Justin Jones, vice president of operations, said the track will be collecting toys year round for the program.

According to the Toys for Tots website, the charity has distributed 604 million toys to 272 million children.

For its ninth event, MB Drift will run two course layouts on the speedway’s road course and will have two competitions — The Noodle Master Challenge and the High-Speed Entry contest — and the drift cars will make parade laps around the oval track.

Steven Larsen, the driver who won the High-Speed Entry contest at 78 mph during October’s Halloween Havoc, has made a trophy to be awarded to this month’s winner.

The track goes hot at 10:30 a.m. and drifters will skid along the course until sundown — or until they run out of tires.

Free ride-alongs are available for anyone 18 or older.

The grassroots drifting organization made Rockingham Speedway its new home this year after spending the past decade at Myrtle Beach Speedway, which was closed due to rezoning.

This year’s events, which included a four-part competition, made use of not only the road course, but also the Little Rock.

MB Drift has also contributed to repaving sections of the road course. On Nov. 12, the crew mixed and poured 56 bags of concrete.

Motorsport 4the Masses, which hosted Motorfest at Thunder Alley* last weekend, will also be at the Little Rock on Saturday for its final event of the year, with free admission for spectators.

Like MB Drift, M4TM has also used both tracks for its 2021 events.

The driving school has six events slated for 2022 starting in March — four will be at the Little Rock and two will be on the main track.
