ROCKINGHAM — Engines will be roaring on both sides of U.S. 1 this weekend with both Rockingham Dragway and Rockingham Speedway hosting motorsports events.

MB Drift returns to Rockingham Speedway for its final event of the 2023 season: Halloween Havoc.

The event is one of the largest for the grassroots series and will feature drivers smoking tires on both the infield road course of the main track and at Little Rock.

Before drifting begins on the road course just after noon Saturday, Stock Car Classics will have two exhibition runs on the main oval from 9-9:30 a.m. and 10:30-11 a.m. SCC will also have a “show off” on pit road from 1:15-1:30 p.m. for spectators to get a closer look at the cars, before two more sessions in the afternoon, with the final being from 3:30-4 p.m. at Little Rock.

Little Rock will go hot from 12:30-3:30 p.m.

The tracks are scheduled to go cold from 5:30-7 p.m. for Trunk or Treat and the costume contest, with night drifting resuming under the infield lights from 7-10 p.m.

The action continues on Sunday, with SCC holding a mock race at Little Rock from 2-3 p.m.

The NHRA Lucas Oil Divisional Series returns to Rockingham Dragway on Saturday, with the NHRA National Open being held on Sunday.

Drivers started arriving at the dragway on Wednesday.

The dragway still has several events on this year’s schedule, including the annual Jim McClure All-Harley World Finals Oct. 27-29 and the 32nd annual Mopars at the Rock slated for Nov. 18. The latter event was rescheduled from April due to weather.
