“SERVE’S UP” WITH NEELY TURNER

The Lady Raiders made the trip to Laurinburg last Tuesday and combined to earn a 7-2 victory over the Lady Scots.

Playing her first season as the No. 1 singles seed, Turner collected her second solo win of the new campaign. Battling against Shay Ward, Turner rolled to an 8-0 shutout win, one of two sweeps in singles play for Richmond.

The other shutout came courtesy of No. 2 junior Hanna Smith, who is also Turner’s doubles partner.

Staying perfect on the season, Turner and Smith teamed up and registered their fourth doubles win in as many matches. The duo made quick work against Ward and Arabia Nimetullah, routing their rivals 8-0 in the No. 1 doubles pairing.

Richmond (2-2, 2-2 SAC) will travel to Pinecrest on Tuesday and host Hoke County on Thursday. Turner and company will begin play at 4 p.m. both days.
