“CAREER HIGH” WITH OLIVIA BROWN
The Lady Raiders played three games last week and secured wins in two of them. Richmond fell to reigning NCISAA 3A state champion Grace Christian School before rattling off wins over Southern Lee and Overhills high schools.
In the 84-56 loss to Grace Christian, Brown netted six points on 2-of-4 shooting. She had a pair of three-pointers in the second half.
Three nights later at Southern Lee, Brown provided a spark off the bench in Richmond’s 78-25 win over the Lady Cavaliers. Finishing the game 6-of-11 from the floor, Brown scored 15 points, a single-game career-high.
She connected on three of her seven three-point attempts in the win, showing off her range from beyond the arc.
Richmond played in the Queens of the Court showcase Saturday and defeated Overhills 54-45. Brown followed her performance the night before with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Six of those points were the result of three-pointers.
In both the Southern Lee and Overhills games, Brown recorded three rebounds, one steal and one assist.
Through seven games this season, Brown is averaging a team second-best 7.8 points per game and shooting 50% from the field. She’s also averaging 1.3 rebounds and 0.7 steals per game. Brown’s 10 three-pointers are second on the team.
