ROCKINGHAM — Five student-athletes were recognized on senior night during Richmond’s basketball games on Friday.

Three Lady Raiders — C’Nedra Hinson, Kyla Sampson and Nyla Stroman — along with Raiders Zion Baldwin and Dakota Chavis — were applauded for their time on the court the last few years.

All three of Richmond’s teams earned wins over Lee County, with senior night being held between the varsity girls’ and boys’ games.

The Lady Raiders earned a 47-33 win, evening the season series. Sampson had a team-high 13 points, Hinson added 12 points (all in the second half) and Stroman scored four points.

Chavis netted 13 points in the Raiders’ 86-34 running-clock victory, one of five players to reach double figures.

Baldwin recorded five points and five boards, helping Richmond clinch its first outright Sandhills Athletic Conference title since 2003-04.

Head coaches Teddy Moseley (girls) and Donald Pettigrew (boys) presented the senior players with a framed poster of an action photo.

Family members, friends, teammates and classmates joined the seniors as they were called to half court.
