WILMINGTON — One hit and a dozen strikeouts at the plate didn’t get the job done for the Hamlet American Legion baseball team on Monday.

Suffering its first Area 2 conference loss of the summer, Post 49 lost 6-1 to Wilmington Post 10.

Bryant Kimbrell had the lone hit, a bloop single to right field to lead off the second inning.

An RBI fielder’s choice by Hunter Huneycutt recorded Hamlet’s solo run in the top of the sixth inning.
