PHOTOS: Hamlet Post 49 vs. Chatham Post 292

HAMLET — Hamlet Post 49’s three-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday.

The 49ers lost 15-4 in six innings to Chatham Post 292, a team they defeated in the second game of the season.

Hamlet led 4-2 after two innings but struggled on the mound the rest of the game. Matt Miller, Eythan Reynolds and James Eason each threw two innings apiece.

Jackson Kuhn recorded two hits and two RBI, starting the scoring with an RBI double in the bottom of the first. Also helping tie the game 2-2 was Ryley Norton, who connected on an RBI single to right.

Post 49’s final two runs came in the second inning courtesy of RBI singles from J.D. Scarbrough and Kuhn. Scarbrough scored two runs in the game and Hunter Huneycutt added a double.

Chatham outscored Hamlet 13-0 in the final four innings. Click here for a full game story.

Hamlet Post 49 (6-4, 2-0 Area 2) will return to conference play on Monday against Wilmington Post 10. The game will be played at Legion Stadium and start at 7 p.m.
