ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Senior High School junior varsity football team lost 42-20 to Union Pines on Thursday.

Trailing 16-0 at the half, Richmond scored all of its points in the final two quarters courtesy of freshman running back Chance Crowder.

His first score was a seven-yard rush with just under two minutes remaining in the third quarter.

A 67-yard scoring drive was capped by Crowder midway through the fourth quarter when he made a diving play into the end zone. That touchdown came on a pitch to the right from 15 yards.

The JV Raiders made a house call one more time, a 19-yard toss from sophomore quarterback Caden Nolan to Crowder with 1:32 left in the game.
