ROCKINGHAM — One of the smaller senior classes of the school year at Richmond Senior High School was recognized Monday.
Following the Richmond girls’ basketball team’s victory over Southern Lee High School, the Lady Raider program took time to celebrate its two senior players on senior night.
Jamyia Lindsey and Sa’Quanna Bostic took center court as their contributions to the program were recognized.
Joined by teammates and family members, Lindsey and Bostic walked out onto the floor while public address announcer Arthur Gilliam read short biographies about each player.
Lindsey, synonymous with Lady Raider basketball her entire career, has been a four-year varsity starter and is closing in on 2K career points. She signed to play Division I basketball at North Carolina A&T State University earlier this school year.
Bostic returned to the program for her senior year and is finishing a three-year career, helping Richmond as a defensive specialist at guard.
Also recognized were the team's three senior managers — India Bridgelal, Anayjah Dumas and Tayliah Evens.
The Richmond Observer will publish galleries of the Richmond boys’ basketball and cheerleading teams’ senior nights soon, as well as game articles.
