PHOTOS: Lady Raider soccer senior night

ROCKINGHAM — Senior night was a success for the Lady Raider soccer team on Monday.

Hosting Sandhills Athletic Conference opponent Southern Lee High School, Richmond blanked the Lady Cavaliers 6-0.

Recognized before the start of the game were the team’s eight seniors, along with team manager and foreign exchange student Fanny Radermecker.

The senior players were Rebeca Avalos, Rylie Bohman, Jennifer Gomez, Sheccid Heaton, C’Nedra Hinson, Cheyenne Jacobs, Kalei Sriratanakoul and Tatum Rhyne.

Four seniors found the back of the net — Gomez (2), Bohman, Heaton and Jacobs.

Scoring the other goal was sophomore Mariana Mendoza. Richmond tallied three goals in each half.

Hinson and Jacobs were also credited with one assist each.

Getting the start in net was Rhyne, who played the whole first half and the final 15 minutes of the second half to keep the shutout intact.

With one more regular-season game on the schedule, Richmond (11-7-1, 5-6 SAC) will head to Scotland High School (3-9-1, 2-8 SAC) on Thursday. Action will begin at 6 p.m.
