FAIRMONT — A lapse in scoring late during Monday’s game led to the first loss of the season for the Richmond Senior High School girls’ basketball team.
In a back-and-forth game at Fairmont High School, the Lady Raiders fell short 54-46.
Despite leading after the first, second and third quarters, Richmond allowed an 18-3 run by the Lady Golden Tornadoes in the last 3:30.
Senior point guard Jamyia Lindsey was the game’s leading scorer with 30 points, which was a single-game season-high.
Three others scored for Richmond — Madisen Jackson (8), J’Nasia Neal (6) and Kaylan Parsons (2).

The Lady Raiders (2-1) travel to Southeast Raleigh High School Saturday to play Seaforth High School (0-1) in a holiday invitational. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
