SANFORD — Head coach Teddy Moseley vowed that Monday’s loss would only make the Richmond Senior High School girls’ basketball team better.

Playing on the road at Grace Christian School, the Lady Raiders lost 82-37.

The Lady Crusaders are the two-time defending NCISAA state champions and also have the nation’s No. 1 prospect Sarah Strong.

Moseley noted that Grace Christian’s “length out front” caused issues with Richmond’s ability to score in the non-conference game.

Junior point guard Jamyia Lindsey led the Lady Raiders with 11 points, while sophomore point guard Jasiah Gilchrist chipped in 10 points.

Strong had 11 points for the Lady Crusaders, who were led in scoring by Icyss Storm’s game-high 23 points. Isabella Roman netted 15 points.
