PHOTOS: Lady Raiders vs. Scotland

ROCKINGHAM — The Lady Raider varsity basketball team secured its second outright Sandhills Athletic Conference championship in three seasons Friday.

On senior night, the Lady Raiders defeated Scotland 59-38, the team’s 13th straight victory.

Richmond celebrated its six senior players and team manager shortly after the game.

Sophomore Jasiah Gilchrist scored 21 points to lead the Lady Raiders. Junior Jamyia Lindsey (15 points) and freshman Madisen Jackson (11 points) reached double-digits.

The Lady Raiders (20-4, 12-0 SAC) will get a first-round bye in the SAC championship tournament and will host the winner of No. 4 Lee County and No. 5 Pinecrest next Wednesday at 6 p.m.
