PHOTOS: Lady Raiders vs. Trinity Christian

FAYETTEVILLE — A trio of double-digit scorers fueled the Lady Raider basketball team to a win Saturday.

Making the trip to Terry Sanford High School for the MLK Dream Jam, Richmond defeated Trinity Christian School 47-13.

Sophomore guard Jasiah Gilchrist led all scorers with 20 points. Junior point guard Jamyia Lindsey and junior forward Rena Drake netted 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Lady Raiders took a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and their defense kept the Lady Crusaders (7-7) scoreless in the second quarter.

Leading 25-6 at halftime, Richmond extended its lead to 43-11 in the third quarter. 

Head coach Teddy Moseley sat his starters for a majority of the final stanza. Also scoring in the win were freshman Madisen Jackson (three points) and senior Yasmeen McLaughlin (two points).

Since beginning playing in the MLK Dream Jam during the 2021-22 season, Richmond is 3-0.

The Lady Raiders (11-4, 4-0 Sandhills Athletic Conference) host Lee County High School (5-5, 1-2 SAC) Tuesday at 6 p.m.
