ROCKINGHAM — Drivers from across the Carolinas and Virginia made the trip to Rockingham Speedway Saturday for another weekend of shredding tires.
Prior to MB Drift’s final competition on Sunday, the grassroots organization provided an opportunity for seat time, with three layouts on the infield road course. One of those was the reverse kokoro circuit used the next day.
Another layout had drivers entering the road course from Turn 4, skidding around the first two curves and building speed down the front stretch before rounding the corner to manji down the back stretch and exit near turn 3 — almost a reversal of the roval used during the Carolina Mini-Stock Challenge race in July.
During fun runs, anyone 18 or older can take free ride-alongs with the drifters.
The RO will have more on the two-day event in the coming days.
