PHOTOS: No. 7 Richmond vs. No. 26 Jordan

ROCKINGHAM — The No. 7 Lady Raider softball team wasted no time in securing a first-round win in the NCHSAA 4A East state playoffs on Tuesday.

Connecting on 13 hits, Richmond eliminated No. 26 Jordan High School 16-4 in five innings.

The Lady Raiders scored three runs in the first, five runs in the second and four runs each in the third and fourth frames to advance.

Senior Makayla Parks and junior Katie Way each had a game-high four runs batted in. Way had three hits and scored four runs.

Senior pitcher Quston Leviner tossed a complete game with five strikeouts. She also had a team-leading four hits at the plate, scored four times and drove in a run.

Contributing with three hits was junior Ryelan Lyerly, as she and senior Macy Steen both recorded two RBI.
