ROCKINGHAM — The final on-campus senior night of the spring sports season took place at Raider Field Thursday.

A beautiful night for baseball set the stage for five senior players to be recognized in front of fans, family members, friends, classmates and teachers.

The Raiders’ 2024 senior class included multi-year varsity players and four-year program journeymen James Eason, Isaac Hinshaw, Cain Hunsucker and Zane Searcy.

Marquan Martin, a speedster and football signee at Ferrum College, joined the Raider baseball team this year as a senior.

Public address announcer Brad Denson read out each player’s baseball and academic bio, while the seniors led their parents onto the field from the home dugout.

Meeting them along the third base line, head coach Eric Brown and assistant coaches Ryan Mercer and Andy Shuler thanked the senior Raiders for their efforts and contributions to the program.

Each player was presented a framed poster with an action shot from this season.

The Richmond Observer will publish an article of the Raiders’ 4-1 win over Scotland High School soon.
