ROCKINGHAM — Three Richmond Raider baseball players were recognized on senior night on Tuesday.
Ethan Clayton, Ethan Locklear and Ashton Phifer, all two-year varsity starters, had their efforts to the program highlighted by head coach Rob Ransom and public address announcer Daniel Diggs.
The trio of soon-to-be graduates contributed in a 10-1 victory over non-conference Freedom Christian Academy.
Locklear pitched a complete game on 104 pitches, striking out six batters in the process. He allowed an earned run and gave up seven hits, getting a boost of run support in the middle innings.
Phifer and Clayton combined for five runs batted in for the Raiders.
Going 2-for-4, Phifer had two singles and three RBI. He chopped a two-RBI single to right field in the bottom of the fifth, before adding an RBI base knock as part of a five-run sixth.
Clayton helped erase an early one-run deficit, driving in a pair of RBI on a single to right in the bottom of the third. He also drew a base on balls and scored two runs.
Richmond (12-7) will travel to non-conference West Stanly (16-3) on Thursday, with first pitch slated for 6:30 p.m.
