PHOTOS: Raiders at Fairmont

FAIRMONT — A new era of Richmond Raider basketball began Monday at Fairmont High School.

Richmond and head coach Donald Pettigrew suffered a 56-32 loss to the Golden Tornadoes.

The Raiders started seniors Davion Ingram and Ahaiver McDonald, along with freshmen Xander Chavis, Kerick Hairston and Donovan Jones.

McDonald finished as the team’s leading scorer with seven points. Netting six points a piece off the bench were sophomores Josiah Brewington and BJ Hinson.

Eight of Richmond’s 13 players who entered the game found the basket.

The Raiders will head to Westover High School Friday for a non-conference game. Tip-off has been moved up to 4 p.m.
