PHOTOS: Raiders vs. Lee County, Pinecrest

ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Raider wrestling team started Sandhills Athletic Conference action on Wednesday.

Hosting Hoke County, Lee County and Pinecrest high schools, the Raiders went 1-1 against the Yellow Jackets and Patriots.

Richmond earned its first team win of the season 41-22 over Lee County before falling 60-23 to Pinecrest.

Four Raiders collected a perfect 2-0 record during the meet. Juniors Joseph Patterson (144-pounds) and Adam Estridge (150-pounds) earned a pair of pinfall victories.

Junior K’Mauri Morgan (215-pounds) and sophomore Demonte Martin (285-pounds) contributed with one pinfall win and one forfeit victory apiece.

Adding wins against the Yellow Jackets were sophomore Davin Sweatt (113-pounds, forfeit), junior Amir Vaughan (175-pounds, pin) and sophomore Jason Gainey (190-pounds, pin).

Richmond (1-5, 1-1 SAC) will return to the mat on Dec. 15 at non-conference North Moore High School. Matches will begin at 6 p.m.
