ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Raider football team is back on top of the Sandhills Athletic Conference standings.

Completing their perfect run through conference play Friday, the Raiders defeated Scotland High School 30-6.

Winning its first SAC title since 2021, Richmond scored two rushing touchdowns, two passing scores and a field goal.

Proving to be the best team in the conference, the Raiders’ defense also quieted the Scotland offense.

Jordan Bostick threw one touchdown pass to Amer Morrison and rushed for another, while Evan Hodges also threw a score to Keonta Pegues.

Chance Crowder added a rushing score and Billy West kicked a field goal.

Richmond led 9-0 at halftime before breaking the game open in the final two quarters. Zach Gardner had the game’s only takeaway, a fumble recovery that was forced by Terande Spencer.
