PHOTOS: Raiders vs. Sun Valley

ROCKINGHAM — A four-run fourth inning distanced the Richmond Raider baseball team for good Thursday.

Hosting non-conference Sun Valley High School, the Raiders defeated the Spartans 6-5.

Notching their third win in a row to start the season, the Raiders scored two runs in the third before adding the big inning a frame later.

Jason Walker pitched five innings and struck out seven batters to earn the win. Landon Taylor drove in two runs, while Riley Brown, Jeremiah Ritter and Walker each had one RBI.

Brown pitched the final two innings of relief, shutting the door with a 1-2-3 top of the seventh.

The Raiders (3-0, 1-0 Sandhills Athletic Conference) play at Southern Lee High School (1-4, 0-1 SAC) Friday at 7 p.m.
