ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Senior High School football team lost 41-13 to Seventy-First High School on Friday.

The season didn’t start the way the Raiders wanted it to, as they allowed four rushing touchdowns to a strong Falcons backfield.

Seventy-First also scored once through the air, as well as on an interception return.

Richmond scored both of its touchdowns in the first half. Senior running back Jaliel Green scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown to get the Raiders on the board.

Sophomore quarterback Evan Hodges, who entered the game in the second quarter and played the rest of the way, hit sophomore wideout Jayden Hamilton for a 67-yard catch and run score.

The Raiders turned the ball over twice, while junior defensive back Jarah Cook forced a fumble in the fourth quarter. There to recover it was sophomore linebacker Jason Gainey.
