CARY — Six runners competed in the NCHSAA 4A Mideast regional cross country championship for Richmond Senior High School on Saturday.

Seniors Zaviar Lowry and Toby McInnis represented the boys’ team, while juniors Mariana Mendez and Alivia Webb, sophomore Samantha Barnes and freshman Dayana Franco ran for the Lady Raiders.

Richmond was one of approximately two dozen 4A programs running at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Teams could run up to seven runners each on the 3.2-mile course, which was a series of rolling hills capped by a long, steady uphill trek to the finish line.

At the time of publication, the NCHSAA hadn’t published the official results for the 4A Mideast regional meet.
