ROCKINGHAM — For a final time during the regular season, the Richmond Senior High School football program named its players of the week Tuesday.
Taking Monday off, the Raiders returned to work in preparation for the NCHSAA state playoffs.
The latest edition of the team’s top players follows Richmond’s 30-6 trouncing of Scotland High School in the regular season finale.
The win, Richmond’s seventh straight, also secured the Sandhills Athletic Conference championship.
The players of the week are:
Offense: Hayden Taylor (senior offensive lineman)
Defense: Terande Spencer (junior linebacker)
Special Teams: Jason Gainey (junior linebacker)
Practice: Caden Nolan (junior tiger back)
Weight Room: Christian Everette (junior running back)
Top Guns Strength and Performance Gym, which sponsors the weekly shoutout of the Raider football players, presented each of the players of the week with a t-shirt.
Denson and the Richmond football staff select each week’s players based on performance in their respective area.
The Raiders (8-2) will host a first round playoff game next Friday against an opponent to be determined.
