RALEIGH — Friday’s football game between the No. 1-ranked Richmond Raiders and No. 3-ranked Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders is one of the premiere non-conference matchups across the state this fall.

With the excitement surrounding the clash between the two 4AA state championship hopeful programs, a sellout crowd is expected to be on hand at Cardinal Gibbons High School when kickoff gets underway at 7 p.m.

The game between the two unbeatens was also named the “Game of the Week” for HighSchoolOT.com. Richmond (3-0) is the top team in the East division, while Cardinal Gibbons (2-0) is the third team in the East.

The Raiders are coming off a 42-14 statement win over No. 8 Butler High School (West) in Week 3, and the Crusaders will look to play for the first time since Hurricane Dorian disrupted its Week 3 matchup.

TICKETS

Raider fans wanting to buy their tickets in advance can pre-order them online by visiting gofan.com. Tickets are priced at $7 apiece, and fans can buy “Richmond Senior” tickets on the website.

PARKING

Another thing traveling Raider fans need to be aware of is the parking at Cardinal Gibbons. Located at 1401 Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh, the high school will host its annual “Faith, Family and Football” night, which draws one of the largest crowds of the season.

Parking is available at the high school, and attending fans can park in the main lot of the school, which can park approximately 500 cars. An overflow lot will also be made available in the “Stadium West Parking Lot” at Carter-Finely Stadium off of Trinity Road, which sits adjacent to the high school.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and plan accordingly for traffic and the possibility of parking off of Cardinal Gibbons’ campus.

No local businesses will be selling pre-order tickets, per RSHS athletic director Rob Ransom.
