“OUT OF THE NET” WITH QUANNA BOSTIC

Heading into the spring hiatus, the Lady Raiders defeated Pine Forest High School 1-0 in the non-conference meeting.

Bostic played the entire game in goal to record the shutout. She made a number of saves, including a shot from inside the box in the opening minutes that gave the Lady Raiders a chance to score.

Through 10 matches this season, Bostic has recorded three clean sheets. She’s also limited opponents to 1.7 goals per match.

The Lady Raiders (5-3-2, 1-2 SAC) will host Scotland High School on April 9 at 7 p.m.

“RAPID RESPONSES” WITH QUANNA BOSTIC

How’d it feel to get the shutout last week against Pine Forest? What worked well for you and the defense?

Bostic:  It was great to get a shutout against Pine Forest last week. I will say for me being quick on my feet and communicating with my back line worked out pretty well. As for my defense, winning the ball and understanding where each of them needed to be helped.

How would you describe your style of play as goalkeeper? What are your top goals each game in net?

Bostic: My style of play as a goalkeeper is really “unique” in my opinion. I strive to be adaptable, making really challenging and fearful decisions and being able to make precise saves. My top goal each game is to not be hesitant.

What do you hope the team will do after spring break, especially in conference play?

Bostic: After spring break, I hope the team will have that mentality of “wanting” it more than whatever team we’re faced with.

How would you define the term student athlete? And what is your favorite class this semester and why?

Bostic:  A student-athlete is someone who balances their time and commitments between their academic life and their athletic life. My favorite class this semester is Civics because it’s interesting and fun.

If you could meet any pro athlete or celebrity, who would it be? What would you want to ask him/her?

Bostic: I would want to meet Brent Faiyaz and I would want to ask “what’s it like being a celebrity?”
