MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Richmond Football Club Revolution Ladies U18/U19 soccer team headed to the beach to compete in The Great Carolina Shootout tournament in Myrtle Beach Saturday and Sunday.
The two-day tournament featured teams from both Carolinas, as well as from Virginia.
On Saturday morning, the team started out in winning fashion, defeating Leesburg Football Club Intensity (Leesburg, Va.), 3-1. However, during the match, Richmond suffered a couple of injuries that would hinder them the rest of the tournament.
The team fell to North Carolina Football Club United White 3-0 in the second game Saturday, and lost twice to North Carolina United Soccer Purple, the tournament winner, on Sunday.
The team will continue tournament play this Saturday in St. Pauls, N.C., with hopes to have every player healthy and ready to compete.
