Richmond Renegades open season this week

ROCKINGHAM — Richmond Renegade summer baseball returns this week.

The varsity and junior varsity baseball teams will begin play in the Central Carolina Scholastic Summer League on Tuesday.

Coached by Rob Ransom, Corey Wallace and Ryan Mercer, the Renegade program is a development league to help build fundamentals and team chemistry over the summer.

Richmond held tryouts last Wednesday, with 16 players being named to the varsity team. The same number of players made the JV team, which is open to rising eighth, ninth and 10th graders.

Below is the current schedule for the Richmond Renegades. Home games are in bold, with the JV team playing first, followed by the varsity team.

Ransom said some games may be added to the schedule throughout the season.
