Rockingham Dragway announces revisions to schedule

ROCKINGHAM — Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainty we face because of it, Rockingham Dragway has made schedule adjustments to accommodate three key events including the 29th annual Griffin Motors MOPARS at the Rock.

The previously postponed VWs at The Rock and Import Faceoff events have been rescheduled for Sunday, June 7, and Sunday, April 25, respectively.  Meanwhile, the MOPAR event and the featured Modern Hemi Shootout, originally scheduled April 17-19, will be contested July 10-12.

At the present time, we still plan to contest the three big May events, including the All Harley Drag Racing Association Nitro Spring Nationals, as scheduled. The May slate includes the Apple Chill Festival, May 2-3; the AHDRA event, May 15-17; and the 28th annual “Big John” Memorial Weekend Bracket Nationals, May 22-26.

The Griffin-sponsored MOPAR event will include a car-and-truck show exclusive to Chrysler Corporation vehicles, a swap meet and bracket races.  The Modern Hemi Shootout, featuring the world’s fastest street hemis, will be contested each day and the 280 mile-per hour “American Thunder” jet dragster also will make an appearance on Saturday, July 11.
