ROCKINGHAM — A battle of the high seas will take place between the No. 2 Raiders and No. 15 Pirates during Friday’s second round playoff game.

Richmond will continue its quest toward returning to the state championship at home against visiting Riverside-Durham High School in the 4A East postseason.

In what was smooth sailing earlier in the week during the first round of the playoffs, Richmond and head coach Donald Pettigrew used a running clock to defeat No. 31 East Chapel Hill 104-47.

With the team’s expectations set at “running it back” to the state title game, the Raiders are focused on the end goal, while still preparing for one game at a time.

Helping guide the team with their senior leadership, Javian Drake, Paul McNeil Jr. and Jamarion Wall each scored 25+ points in the round one victory.

Hoping to lower its magic number to four games before achieving their ultimate goal, the Raiders will tip-off at home at 7:30 p.m.
