ROCKINGHAM — With two playoff wins in the books, the Richmond Senior High School girls basketball team hopes to keep its postseason alive.
The No. 5 Lady Raiders (24-4) were guaranteed two home playoff games if they advanced to the second round, but thanks to an upset Friday, they’ll get a third home game Tuesday.
Visiting Rockingham will be No. 20 Southeast Raleigh High School, which defeated conference foe No. 4 Willow Spring High School in the second round.
The Lady Bulldogs (20-8) have knocked off two higher seeds this postseason, having also defeated No. 13 Hillside High School in the first round.
Richmond, which is riding a 17-game winning streak, used a strong second and fourth quarter against No. 21 Leesville Road High School during the second round to win 69-57.
This is the team’s first third round appearance under head coach Teddy Moseley.
Tuesday’s third round home playoff game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

- During the playoffs, the team is averaging 43.5 points per game, which is near Richmond’s points-against average this season (38.5).
