ROCKINGHAM — Local sports fans will see a hike in statewide ticket prices for high school athletics during the new school year.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association upped its single-game ticket price to $10 a person for sporting events in 2024-25. That’s a $2 increase from the previous year.

Mike Way, Richmond Senior High School’s athletic director, countered the uptick by saying Raider fans can get the best bang for their buck by purchasing one of two passes offered by the school.

This school year Richmond’s athletic department is offering two passes through its Booster Club — the Raider Booster Club Pass and the Raider Pass.

For those who attend several sporting events each season — fall, winter and spring — the Raider Booster Club Pass is the best option, Way explained.

Priced at $175 per pass, the Raider Booster Club Pass allows access to each of Richmond’s five regular-season home football games. Way said that’s a $50 value, with all proceeds going to the general athletics fund at the school.

Other football-related perks of the Raider Booster Club Pass include a tailgate-style dinner in the end zone at all home varsity football games with other pass holders (at least a $50 value) and on-field pregame interaction with players and coaches.

The pass also allows fans to attend all home games and matches for every sport at Richmond during the entire school year. Way noted that the value of each pass depends on how many other sporting events fans attend.

Throughout the athletic school year, Booster Club pass holders will also get “one tailgate-style dinner at other sports,” with those dates varying depending on each team’s schedule. All pass holders will also receive a Booster Club hat.

The Raider Pass, which is being sold for $100 per pass, “includes all regular-season home sporting events for the entire year, excluding football.”

Way said that all reserved section tickets for home football games, priced at $125 per seat, have sold out. The reserved seating section this season was narrowed to 225 seats.
