Sanajia Tillman: The Official Richmond County Female Athlete of the Week

ROCKINGHAM — Senior cheerleader Sanajia Tillman has been named the Official Richmond County Female Athlete of the Week presented by HWY 55.

An integral part in keeping the crowd pumped up on Friday nights, Tillman has spent the last three seasons as a varsity cheerleader. This is her first career recognition.

“CHEERING ON THE RAIDERS” WITH SANAJIA TILLMAN

One of six seniors on this year’s team, Tillman is known for her bubbly personality amongst her teammates and leadership on the sidelines.

As a back spot, Tillman’s job is to help stabilize a flyer during stunts and also helps catch her teammate if the stunt collapses.

The Richmond cheerleaders are preparing for the first round of the state football playoffs, and will begin cheering at basketball games when they begin later in November.

Also coming up for Tillman and the Lady Raider cheerleaders are three competitions, starting with the Sandhills Athletic Conference competition at Lee County on Nov. 19. That will be followed by NCHSAA states on Dec. 3 and NCCCA states in February.
