ASHEBORO — Local Raider Amateur Wrestlers recently competed in and placed in the Zoo City Open.
Placing for RAW in the event were Nesean McBride (1st place, elementary 115-pounds), Alijah Goodwin (3rd place, Bantom 55-pounds), Joseph Patterson (3rd place, middle school 138-pounds), Adam Estridge (1st place, middle school 126-pounds), Jason Gainey (1st place, middle School 170-pounds) and Isaac Nunley (1st place, elementary 126-pounds).
“I saw great improvement as six of our nine wrestlers competing earned medals, and those that didn’t get medals were very competitive and won five matches combined,” head coach Earl Nicholson said.
RAW will compete again on April 30 and is still looking for more talent between the ages 7-19.
